LA BOHÉME

“The the Latin Quarter and the Parisian artist scene seem a lot of fun. People live on air and love: the painter Marcello and Musetta regularly quarrel and make up loudly, On Christmas Eve the writer Rodolfo meets and falls in love with the seemstress Mimì. But then tragedy: Mimì falls ill with tuberculosis without the means for any treatment. Too late the bohemians realize the seriousness of the situation and Mimì dies.

With his adaptation of Henri Murger’s serial novel ‘Das Leben der Bohème’, Giacomo Puccini created what is probably the most authentic work of the Italian opera genre “Verismo”. The emotional life of the individual characters is translated into a psychologically charged and, in the best sense of the word, truthful music that is hard to escape emotionally.”
